Plastic Surgery Approval- Over Half of Americans Say Yes

January 9th, 2012

orange county plastic surgery newport beach plastic surgeryPlastic surgery is a controversial issue in that U.S. Americans either support the idea of cosmetic surgery or disapprove of making changes to their bodies. A recent survey shows that over half of Americans support an individual’s right to plastic surgery.  If you fall in the majority and are interested in cosmetic surgery, contact Newport Beach Plastic Surgery to schedule a consultation for your Orange County plastic surgery procedure.

According to a February 2011 survey, more than half of all American citizens (which is to say roughly 51 percent) are comfortable with the idea of having plastic surgery and would not have a problem if someone in their life had a cosmetic procedure done on their face or body. This report shows an increase of three percent in the approval rating since 2009.

There does not even seem to be a certain demographic of plastic surgery supporters.  People of all classes are comfortable with such procedures.  The opinions and viewpoints of Americans regarding plastic surgery are not affected by their gender or marital status either. Men and women alike, regardless of whether they are single, married, divorced or widowed see plastic surgery as a viable option to looking better and slowing the signs of the aging process. More and more people are seeing the many benefits to getting a nip or a tuck somewhere on their physique. For many people a cosmetic surgery procedure can be life changing.

If you are in Orange County, plastic surgery is a safe, easy procedure at Newport Beach Plastic Surgery. Milind K. Ambe MD is one such plastic surgeon who can offer you plastic surgical procedures that will enhance and improve upon your physical features. An estimated 53 percent of women and 49 percent of men approve of having cosmetic surgery. If you are unhappy with an aspect of your appearance then the time has come to take action and to take control of your life.

Newport Beach Breast Augmentation Most Popular Cosmetic Procedure

December 20th, 2011

Summary: Considering Newport Beach breast augmentation? This is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures due to high patient satisfaction and short recovery times!

When it comes to cosmetic procedures, breast augmentation is clearly the most popular among patients across the country, including those in Newport Beach. Breast augmentation consistently ranks at the top of the list of plastic surgeries. The reason? Most patients point to high satisfaction rates and short recovery times.

Newport Beach plastic surgeon, Milind K. Ambe MD, understands why. According to him, “Patients are finding that implants are giving more natural looking results, making them far happier with their surgery results than ever before.”

New surgical techniques have also led to this result. Today’s women can have breast augmentation and then be back to work within just a couple of weeks. The recovery times are quite short compared to the techniques used in the past.

Another possible reason that the satisfaction rates are so high is the fact that women have a very clear expectation about this surgery. Unlike a face lift or tummy tuck, which can be hard to visualize, technological advances, like the iAugment app,  are making it easier for women to picture what they will look like after breast augmentation. Realistic expectations lead to satisfied patients.

Of course, much of what leads to a high satisfaction rate and a short recovery time is the skill of the surgeon. Choosing a surgeon who is quite skilled at this procedure, such as Dr. Ambe, greatly improves your chances of having a result that you are happy with. Always look at before and after shots from the surgeon’s office and find out how many breast augmentations his clinic performs each year. This will help you find an experienced, skilled doctor for your upcoming Newport Beach breast augmentation procedure.

Increase in Newport Beach Plastic Surgery for Patients over 60

December 13th, 2011

The New York Times recently published an article on the subtle, but apparent increase in plastic surgery for elderly patients. More men and women are choosing to augment their bodies with elective cosmetic procedures designed to help them look and feel better. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, face lifts, eyelid surgery, liposuction, breast reductions, forehead lifts, breast lifts and even breast augmentation are becoming more popular in men and women that are 60, 70 or even 80 years old. This trend is continuing to rise and will likely accelerate even faster as the baby boomer generation quickly approaches 65 and older.

Although there are additional risks associated with having a surgery later in life, advances in technology have reduced these risks.  Many elderly men and women see these procedures as helpful to staying competitive in the job market because they can’t afford to (or don’t want to) retire. For them, the benefits of plastic surgery outweigh the risks.

Plastic surgery options remain open throughout your life. Newport Beach plastic surgeon, Milind K. Ambe MD, is happy to meet with patients to discuss options for procedures that can help them look and feel younger. Make these years the best of your life and feel good about the way you look!

Should patients bring in celebrity photos for Orange County plastic surgery?

October 31st, 2011
As cosmetic procedures continue to grow in popularity with each passing year, you have to wonder what is causing so many people to go under the knife. Aside from the patients who utilize plastic surgery to remedy a malformation such as a birth defect or as a result of a trauma, why is there such a prevalence of dislike in the way we look? It seems appropriate to mention the influence of pop culture on this growing trend of cosmetic surgery. Our society has an obsession with celebrities— their appearances and their lifestyles.  Newport Beach plastic surgeon, Milind K. Ambe MD, has experience working with reality stars and private individuals to give them the look they desire.
The truth of the matter is that at one time or another, you might have wanted to resemble a celebrity or at least have some of the same features as that celebrity. So should you bring in a picture of your favorite celebrity to a plastic surgeon in an effort to replicate their look? It certainly can’t hurt. However, it is extremely important that patients have realistic expectations. These pictures can serve as a guide for the plastic surgeon, but the end result will depend on each individual’s existing bone structure. In Orange County, plastic surgery can help men and women become closer to achieving the celebrity appearance they’ve always wanted.

Chances are, it has been a while, especially if you have ignored your own needs because you were busy tending to your kids. If this sounds like your story, you can rest assured that you are not alone. In fact, it is not unusual for devoted mothers and fathers to put the needs of their kids above their own. You may be asking yourself, “What now?” The answer is simple. adventurous love life.  However, if you haven’t taken such good care of your appearance because you were tending to your kids, then you will likely need some help getting back to your old or new self.  You can achieve this new look through a variety of surgeries, including breast augmentation, a tummy tuck, or a facelift.  Plastic surgery can not only help restore confidence in your appearance but it will also help enhance your love life by helping you to feel more confident about showing and sharing your body.

What Women Want: Breast Augmentation

September 7th, 2011

Plastic surgery has a growing presence within American society. This is particularly true with respect to breast augmentation, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS,) which funds cosmetic surgery research, education and procedural advances.

Orange Country Breast Augmentation According to a recent study conducted by ASAPS, titled “Cosmetic Surgery National Data Statistic for 2010”, breast augmentations topped the list of surgical procedures performed on women with 318,123 performed last year. This number is up over 40 percent from the previous year, and leads the second most performed cosmetic surgical procedure for women, liposuction, by nearly 30,000 procedures. As a result, there is no denying what women want: bigger breasts.

However, breast enhancements weren’t the only plastic surgery procedures that women sought out in high numbers in 2010. In fact, of all the cosmetic procedures performed last year, women accounted for nearly 8.6 million or 92 percent, which far exceeds the 8 percent of procedures performed on men. While this may be attributed to increased cultural pressures on women to conform to a heightened standard of beauty, it may also be attributed to the fact that more and more women are becoming accepting of cosmetic surgery. Specifically, nearly 53 percent of women say that they approve of cosmetic surgery compared to 49 percent of men according to the consumer attitudes survey component of the ASAPS study. This may offer an explanation as to why breast augmentations weren’t the only cosmetic procedures women were seeking. Rounding out the top five plastic surgery procedures that women opted for included: liposuction, eyelid surgery, abdominoplasty and breast reduction.

Milind K. Ambe MD of Newport Beach Plastic Surgery performs Orange County breast augmentation procedures year round. Contact Dr. Ambe here for a free consultation.

Breast Feeding With Your New Breast Implants: Life after an Orange County Breast Augmentation

August 16th, 2011

If you are considering Orange County breast augmentation, yet know that you will eventually have a baby that you want to breast feed, Dr. Ambe wants to set your mind at ease about your options. It is absolutely possible to nurse an infant after having breast implant surgery, and here is what you need to know.

First, your ability to breastfeed will depend largely on where your incision was. It is possible to damage the milk ducts during breast augmentation where the incisions are around the areola. Other incision sites, like under the fold or through the armpit, are far less likely to cause problems. This is why Dr. Ambe will discuss any future breastfeeding with you before your surgery.

Breast surgery can change the sensations of your nipples. If they are much more sensitive, you might have more nipple pain as you learn to breastfeed. Getting your baby’s latch right with the help of a lactation specialist can fix this problem.

Breast engorgement with an implant can be more painful and exaggerated, but this does not prevent you from nursing. As your body adjusts to the milk your baby is drinking, this problem will right itself. If you have fever and chills with your engorgement, you will need medical intervention to ensure you do not have mastitis, a very dangerous breast infection.

Of course, breast-feeding will change the shape and contours of your breasts. For this reason, some women choose to put off their Orange County breast augmentation surgery until they are certain they are done having and nursing babies. That said, most women can successfully breast feed after implant surgery.

Newport Beach Liposuction v. Tummy Tuck: Which surgery is right for me?

August 5th, 2011

If you are getting your body beach-ready for this summer season, you may be considering plastic surgery. However, there are many body sculpting options and you may be unsure about which type is right for you. How do you know if you need liposuction? What is the difference between liposuction and tummy tuck surgery? Which one is right for you?

Newport Beach liposuction is a series of techniques designed to remove stubborn fat deposits from various areas of your body. Patients that make good candidates for this type of procedure are in good overall health and have a troublesome area like their buttocks or thighs that they want to contour and slim. Some patients elect to have liposuction surgery on their abdomen, but many use this type of procedure for other problem areas. However, an Orange County tummy tuck is a popular way to tighten and tone your abs.

Orange County tummy tuck is an extensive abdominoplasty designed to tone and trim the abdominal wall and further define its muscles. This type of procedure is great for women that have been pregnant multiple times or patients that have recently lost a dramatic amount of weight. Tummy tuck surgery will remove any excess skin and shape your midsection into top shape.

So whether you need a Newport Beach liposuction or a tummy tuck, or a combination of both, Dr. Milind K. Ambe and the staff at Newport Beach Plastic Surgery can help you make an informed decision. Give us a call at (949) 759-5539 or fill out our online form.

Newport Beach Plastic Surgery Grows in Popularity with Reality Shows Like Real Housewives of Orange County

July 19th, 2011

Most people know that reality TV is rarely actual reality, yet many people are making changes to the way they do things based on these programs. For instance, when the stars of Real Housewives of Orange County started going under the knife for cosmetic surgery, rates for Newport Beach plastic surgery began to increase as well. While the reality stars may not live a realistic lifestyle, they have drawn light to plastic surgery and the real results they are seeing.

Dr. Milind K. Ambe, who is known throughout Newport Beach for plastic surgery excellence, was recently seen on The Real Housewives of Orange County. In one episode he was chosen by Tamra Barney to perform a breast augmentation revision surgery. The reality TV star was seeking to downsize her implants to make them more in line with her shape, and her dramatic improvement combined with the skill and professionalism Dr. Ambe exhibited on the show has sparked interest in many other women and caused them to seek his help.

After the successful breast augmentation, Ms. Barney again sought Dr. Ambe’s services for her mother who was having a facelift. Seeing these results, Lynne Curtin came to Dr. Ambe for a facelift and browlift to turn the clock back about 15 years. Curtin’s teenage daughter, Raquel also sought his advice about the potential to have a rhinoplasty. Lynne and Raquel had their surgeries performed on the same day so that they could recover together.

These surgeries showed Dr. Ambe’s varied skills, causing even more people to schedule procedures or express an interest in surgery, and, more specifically, the skills of Dr. Ambe. Yet, even when he is on camera, Dr. Ambe clearly focuses on the needs of his patients. When Raquel, the teenager who was considering a nose job, also asked him about a breast implant procedure, he was careful to explain that she needed to wait until she was finished developing before considering something as drastic as surgery. This patient-centric approach has earned him an excellent reputation for Newport Beach plastic surgery.

Platelet Rich Plasma Injections Complement: Orange County Facelift

July 11th, 2011

Now available to patients looking for Orange County facelift, Platelet Rich Plasma injections help to enhance the effects of the facelift. Platelets are a natural component of your body’s blood supply and help promote collagen production. Collagen is the material that helps our skin maintain its elasticity. As we age, our skin naturally produces less collagen over the years and, in turn, loses elasticity. This leads to the inevitable wrinkles, fine lines, deep brow furrows or crow’s feet. With platelet rich plasma injections, plastic surgeons are able to offer their patients a way to naturally renew their collagen production.

Dr. Milind K. Ambe is pleased to offer platelet rich plasma injections for his Orange County facelift patients. Men and women that have extensive facelift work done on their skin and jowls can enhance the effects of the surgery and lengthen the results with this type of therapy. The platelets in the injections help to promote the body’s natural collagen production, but also improve blood flow to injured areas. This helps speed healing around incision sites and ensures you will get the most beautiful results from your surgery. This type of therapy uses your body’s own platelets removed from a sample of your blood, so there is virtually no chance of rejection by your body.

Orange County: Breast Augmentation Financing Options

June 15th, 2011

If you are ready for a new look and are a resident of Orange County, breast augmentation likely looks tempting. In most cases, the result is appealing, but the payment issue is not exactly easy. Many doctors only accept limited payment types, leaving you to figure out how to fund your surgery. Fortunately, Newport Beach Plastic Surgery has plenty of payment options.

Many people are ready to put their plastic surgery on a credit card so that they can pay it off over time, but run into the complication that their doctor does not accept their card type. Newport Beach Plastic Surgery accepts major cards, such as Visa, Discover, American Express, and MasterCard, so there is no reason to have to take out a high-interest loan or sell items to pay for the procedure. If you do not want to use your regular cards, but are interested in some kind of financing, consider CareCredit. This type of card features no fees upfront, allowing you to make your appointment today before paying anything. You can then pay off your surgery over 48 months, with no prepayment penalties should you be able to pay it off sooner. As long as you plan to finance $2000 to $25000, you can enjoy this card with interest rates starting at 11.9%. Furthermore, most applicants get a decision right away when they sign up online.

If you want breast enhancement but think you can never afford it, think again. Orange County breast augmentation provider Dr. Milind K. Ambe offers payment options that can suit anyone. Whether you want to pay with cash, credit card, or a special plastic surgery revolving line of credit that you can also use for future procedures, it can be done at Newport Beach Plastic Surgery.
