As we enter the new millennium, the entire practice of Plastic Surgery is undergoing its own dramatic "face-lift" as doctors race to keep up with the scientific breakthroughs that are transforming this entire field of science and beauty. Tiny fiber optic cameras have given us the ability to create faster and easier "facial rejuvenations" with less overall stress and scarring. Laser and "Power Peel" micro-dermabrasion are creating a sensation in skin resurfacing. New compounds such as Collagen and Botox are opening up whole new possibilities for "light cosmetic procedures" that are less intrusive and more accessible for a wider range of patients.

As one of only six Plastic Surgeons in the nation with a seven year dual training in Orthopedic Surgery as well as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Milind K. Ambe is uniquely trained to utilize the full range of these new scientific tools, techniques and technology.

Through his extended residencies at Harbor-UCLA and UC Irvine Medical Centers, Dr. Ambe has had the rare opportunity to learn the latest in endoscopic/fiber optic techniques (as originally developed for intricate Orthopaedic surgeries) as well as the latest in laser technology currently being used at UCI's renowned Beckman Laser Institute.

Combined with this highly specialized training in technology and technique, Dr. Ambe is also a classically trained pianist with a fine appreciation for the arts. Together this gives him a unique perspective from which to orchestrate his own personal blend of beauty and science.

Personal Note

Rarely a day goes by that I do not read some article about the "latest and greatest" technique or technology which promises to revolutionize the world of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. I am sure that for my patients it is hard to sift through this sea of information to discern what is factual and not just media hype. It is precisely for this reason why I spend so much time researching every new idea and medical innovation so that I can offer my patients the most accurate and up-to-date information available on which to base their decisions. While many of these new techniques and treatments might offer amazing results, they may not be the appropriate choice for you. It is imperative that you are fully informed of the risks and benefits associated with each option and to select the correct procedure for your own individual needs.

Working together in an unhurried way, I believe we can find the right formula for safety, comfort and "peace of mind". Through proper education, realistic expectations can be established which will help us to achieve the results you desire.
